Anyone ever consider petitioning IDPA to allow the .45 GAP in CDP division? Seems kind of silly not allowing it? I think it would increase the popularity of the cartidge. Imagine a G35 sized .45 GAP - count me in (if it was allowed)!

I know for me, I stick with calibers that meet a competitive need, since I do shoot a lot of competition, which is why I don't have .357 Sig, 10mm, or .45 GAP.

Sounds like a good idea. I'd sign the petition.

Most people I spoke to would, including those that have no intention of using the .45 GAP. No one I've spoken to sees it as a threat or unfair advantage, just a different option to launch .45 cal bullets.

Last PA State, we had a guy shooting an XD in ESP. He was running 9+1 which was an advantage on a few stages. A couple SOs wanted to ding him, until they found out he was shooting a .45 GAP and 9 rounds was max capacity of the mag.

If you're willing to translate all the acronyms into English, I might be willing to sign.

    CDP: Custom Defensive Pistol

    ESP: Enhanced Service Pistol

    XD: Who knows?

And, yes, I'd be quite happy to download my magazines to eight rounds and campaign my G37 in CDP. Or load my G38 mags to capacity and use that wonderful pistol in CDP.

I don't shoot IDPA, but a G34 sized GAP would be very nice.

I'd sign it. But I'm not optimistic.

Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest in it.
