PC monitoring software (keylogger)

    Guys, I have a client who wants me to install monitoring software on a employees PC (owned by the company).
    What do you all suggest?

    I would want his reasons for doing so in writing. While it is a company computer there is a certain level of expected privacy even at work.

    I would avoid it if possible. There could be some legal ramifications.

    How important is this client?

    In my state, anything done on a company PC is owned by the company. I am not your typical IT guy that wants to snoop on people. I dont care what they do as long as its not putting my networks in danger. This is why I dont know much about them.
    Since you asked, this is my biggest and most important client.

    Where I work it would require the signatures of three executives to implement a key logger. A key logger would only be used when the person using the computer is suspected of a felony.

    If they have the cash, Spector 360 is the ****. Anything can be logged. Keystrokes, websites and statistics, program use, and screenshots are varying intervals. Plus a ton more. Its expensive though.

    Several courts have ruled that there is no expectation of privacy on company systems, including emails. Check with your client's company policy statement each employee should have been furnished and see what they were told. Ask the client to get a disclaimer from his attorney for the employees to sign to stay out of court
