Paranoid Question....

Discussion in 'Carolina Glockers' started by Cannibal Roses, Mar 24, 2007.

  1. This is probably very stupid, as I'm a model citizen, but I'm feeling paranoid that I'll be turned down for my CCW Permit. I'm going to list the trouble I've been in since I was 18, and I want you guys to tell me that I'll be okay.

Speeding Tickets, lots of them from ages 18 to 23. None in the 15 years since then. Actually had my license yanked for a month when I was 19 because of getting two speeding tickets too close together. One was charged as a Reckless Driving but was reduced in court.

Possession of Pot/Paraphanalia - 13 years ago - ticket only, not arrest (ex-boyfriend lit up in the car before going into a concert - I didn't do anything. I swear. He was arrested, I was ticketed.) All charges completely dismissed in court, even for him.

Driving with lapsed insurance - 12 years ago (I actually got arrested and thrown in the slammer for a couple of hours for this one.) The cop was an asphole, I didn't realize my insurance had been cancelled (roomate at the time had a bad habit of throwing away important mail.) Again, in court I proved that I resolved the situation and it was dismissed.

So.....anyone want to comment on my embarrassing criminal indiscretions and tell me there's nothing here to stand in my way of carrying???:embarassed:

Ur not a felon are ya? Don't sweat it!!!! It will show!!!! Have you already applied? I was told by the instructor of my course, that if you gonna be denied it would be in the 1st 2 weeks after sending in your request!!!! Good luck!!!!

  3. What if someone had a low level (burglary) felony conviction 35 years ago (age 17) and they had received a pardon from the governor restoring their rights. No other felonies and one DUI about 25 years ago and nothing since them. Would there be a problem?

I wonder how close they check that far back anyway. I know of one person who was approved that had an involuntary commitment about 20 years ago

  8. Thanks, Bullseye.
My mind is set at ease and I'm now (im)patiently waiting.
