Do you think there are any professions that are overpaid?

    Why?

    How much should they make?

    Police and military.

    Lol

    (no, I'm not serious.)

I can't think of one. Politician, maybe? I have bigger issues with bene's than salary.

I disagree. There is a high turn over in both professions.

Any profession that has established a legal monopoly on a specific service is likely overpaid.

Yup. Look at the wage differential between sworn cops and security guards. Not all of it is due to the different levels of training.

I work in Manufacturing. Five years ago, I refused to take a Working Forman’s position, I was told what I make per hour the Company expects me to take that position.

I told them, I am not blind, and I have seen past Working Forman’s get thrown under the bus. That's a ride I can live without.:whistling:

The value of labor is based on the market value of that labor for most professions. In most cases, the exceptions to this are government jobs or jobs with labor unions.

I was going to say Golden parachute executives, but that's not really a profession, that's retirement.

Some lawyers are overpaid, but not all. Darn it Rabbi I'm too tired to think rationally.

    Most union workers.

Also some people on minimum wage. They should get the market wage. Creating a wage floor increases supply, reduces demand, and increases unemployment.

Most professional sports/actors/etc. I don't mind the actors since its not a lot of public $$$ going to them. The sports ones where they complain about millions of $$ a yr and the public has to spend BILLIONS of $$ to build stadiums...
IMO they should get paid what the"business" can afford. Not my money. I wouldn't lose sleep if I never saw another football, basketball, hockey, baseball..... pro game again.
