Saw a very disturbing movie - Redacted - on the American campaign in Iraq. Apparently, it was based on the Al-Mahmudiyah gang rape and killings in March 2006. It was quite negative and maybe tendentious. It failed to mention that the actual perpetuators were sentenced to 90, 100 and 110 years of prison and a fourth is being tried in Kentucky. There's another one, Paul Haggis' "In the Valley of Elah", dealing with post traumatic stress disorder. In the ending, Tommy Lee Jones flies the American flag upside down - a sign that not everything is alright with the country. Apparently, it is based on the story of Richard Davis, a veteran murdered on his return home from the campaign. I guess most people are tired of the war. I feel for the American soldiers over there and the ordinary Iraqi people. Hope that the cycle of violence ends soonest possible time.
