    Anybody do origami?

I don't have the patience for complex stuff but I have gotten on a kick of making boxes over the last few weeks. I saw a huge canvas a guy had covered with various sized boxes in a rainbow of colors and I want to recreate something similar.

The stars, polyhedra, modular specimens and the like fascinate me. I don't care that much for animals and the like but the shapes with all the angles just draw me in.

I went to a wedding a few years ago where both parties were Japanese by ancestry. The ladies spent the previous night making origami swans? geese? for every single place-setting and it was a very nice touch. HH

Very impressive talent, I'd never have the patience (or dexterity) to learn.

I cannot find pictures of it but when we graduated from flight school, the day before we got our wings we got our bar. One of the guys in the class knew how to origami wings that looks damn near like Army Novice wings so we all pestered him to make a metric buttload of them.

Instead of silver dollars we gave those to the first salute we got. Everyone thought that rather cool.

For Christmas, my mom makes boxes out of the Christmas cards and puts stuff in them for everyone. Once she and my dad lost their minds and decide to fold 200 of them for favors for a party...

We've been known to fold them in decreasing size, put them inside one another, and stuff the last one with a Hershey's kiss, or something equally annoying.

I don't do paper origami, but I do fabric origami... butterflies and flowers to use in my quilts. If I can find the pics, I'll post them tonight.

I'll sit at Hooters and make origami stuff out of $1 bills.
The ladies keep them. Heaven knows why.

I can make a swan, a crab, a heart and a six pointed (ninja) star.

MK, maybe nothing special, but way better than I can do!

You should post pics. And if you'd given me one I'd keep it too.
