In my younger and more foolish days I wanted a 458 Mag, and bought a used Ruger #1 in that caliber. It came with a box of shells, 19 to be exact. That should have been fair warning.
I took it out to my favorite shootin' place in the country, loaded a cartridge and let 'r rip...
The boom was the gun going off.
The whap was my right hand hitting my face.
Broke my glasses, got a black eye and a world-class nosebleed.
Next gun show I had it on my table...
