I just got my "On the threshold" book, and have been invited to my first lodge meeting tomorrow night. I assume I'm going to be "Initiated" to an Entered Apprentice? I'm kind of nervous, isn't there something I'm supposed to be studying? Anyone feel like helping out a future Mason? (NOT asking anyone to break code, just give advice)

    Thanks in advance
    Dan

Just relax - you dont need to read anything. You dont need to study anything. You will find out the least you have to worry about is someone willing to help. You will also find out that all things are not the same in different states, pretty close, but not always the same.

I would be more than happy to answer what I can, just send me a PM. Congratulations!!!

Thanks Brothers, all went well! A few bobbled words from the WM and me being nearly deaf in my right ear notwithstanding! We all had light refreshments afterward, (my lodge has a kitchen and dining area). Chatted it up with the WM who owns/works at a machine shop in my area!! Really a great bunch of men. Glad I did it!! As far as the ritual goes, I'm not sure what I can and cannot say, but it was like nothing I've ever experienced.

There is much more fun to come. Just try to pay attention and sit back and enjoy what's going on.

    It only gets cooler!!!!

Watch an EA degree as soon as you can. It will make even more sense. You will be amazed at how much you miss the first time.

  7. Just take a look at all of the other brothers before you walk into the lodge. Don't be nervous because everyone of them have done the same exact thing you are doing now.

  8. Good advice.tom.
