  1. Okay I know it is early in the morning, I was trying to clean my G21. And I don't know what I was thinking by putting the slide back on the receiver without the barrel & the recoil spring. And now I can not pull them apart....

If would knows how to remove this so I can finish cleaning my pistol.. thank you..

There is a link on youtube for this problem I will see if I can find it for you. You have to remove the rear plate and spring to get the top slide off.

Push the slide forward so that it's in the position it would be when it is in battery (the gun is ready to fire).

Hold it in position with your thumb so that it doesn't move backward and restrain the slide with your other hand so that it doesn't fall off.

Pull the trigger and move the slide forward off the frame.

Basically you're doing what you would normally do for a field strip but you don't have to pull down the slide lock because there's no barrel for it to retain.

The reason the gun binds is because the striker/firing pin can't move past the trigger bar unless the trigger is released. But for the trigger to work, the slide has to be in the position it would normally be in when the gun is ready to be fired.

The recoil spring would normally hold it in that position but the recoil spring isn't in place. So you have to hold it in place manually.
