OK Colt fans, is this a rare find?

    Some idiot colored in the roll marks, but that can be removed. Someone that knows their Colt 1911 history, tell me if I found a winner or a junker. All serial numbers match up too. :cool:

    $950? Sounds like a nice price for an Original GI A1 with matching numbers... I wish i lived closer to the middle of america :(

    I'd say the only ding" against it is that the grips have been replaced.

    Other than that, it looks like a good find to me.

    As far as the price goes, it seems like a lot of money, but heck a good condition M-1 carbine will set you back approx. $750.00 now days.

    Ahhhh, for the days I used to buy those things for $75.00 with ammo thrown in as a "deal sweetener".

    Another vote to keep it as is. I'd replace the recoil spring ans shoot it alot though.
