Also, in the late 70's/early 80's there was a show about some people who made a rocket in their junkyard using a cement mixer as a capsule. They collected space debris for fun and profit.

I just cant remember the name of it.:dunno:

I used to watch quite a bit of PBS...I liked the "Happy little trees" guy..and also, when I worked nights, I'd come home and turn on an exercise show called "Lilias, Yoga and You", the gal talked her way through the exercises in such a soothing monotone that I was out like a light in about 10 minutes!
Also use to enjoy the "Battletech" series of Japanese early anime.....

Speaking of reruns, did anyone else play "Hi, Bob" in college? (It was a drinking game involving the Bob Newhart show)

    Great acting

No commercial every 15 minutes telling you to consult a doctor if you have a Woodrow lasting more than four hours

No news feed every 30 minutes designed to keep you on edge

Both sides of my family are English. Hearing the euphemisms on the show is like listening to my parents or grandparents have a conversation when they were alive.

It's About Time! I remember that one, and My Mother The Car.

How about "When Things Were Rotten"? Mel Brooks, 1975.

Awh, come on... Back in those days, we didn't care about the safety of cars. We had metal dashes with no padding. We often had either no seatbelts or at most just lap belts. And we didn't wear them anyway. Our solution to safety in an accident was to just NOT GET IN AN ACCIDENT. We had cars that had standard transmissions, non-powered brakes, manual roll down windows, non-powered steering, hard metal steering wheels, and the only air bag we had was when our old lady was riding with us and she wouldn't quit talking. Cars were a lot lighter back then without all those creature comforts and the old VW Bug would get 25 mpg even with the original body on it.

I will admit to watching "Charmed" when I stumbled across it on reruns at one time. But only for the eye candy (Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan mainly).

That was my first thought when I saw the thread title. Was surprised to see this mentioned several times. This show took campy to a whole new level. Admittedly, I didn't see it when it ran, but caught it on Netflix.

Used to love that show. A couple years ago, the wife and I were at a resort. There was a trivia game where they would play a theme song, and you had to guess the TV show. Out of 50 people, I was the only one that knew the answer when they played the theme to Hardcastle and McCormick.

I watched that as well. Even as a kid, I was into handguns. I seem to remember the FBI guy had a custom S&W Auto, like a Devel or ASP??

    Baretta. :tongueout:

Great show. I don't think I would call it obscure though. It was a pretty big hit for a few years.

I guess the same could be said for some of the ones I mentioned though.
