Once again I am amazed at by the smart he exudes. First he thinks the private sector is doing fine. There is a big rush of smart, then he says it isn't and we need more Government jobs. Another rush of smart. When he finally says "The economy will be fine when we have more Government employees than employees in the private sector" I will probably overdose from the rush of all that "Bama.

I generally find myself in agreement with you on most things but I have had a sudden attack of honesty and fair play. I was born in the Eisenhower era and I have seen a few Presidents come and go. I remember a time when we didn't expect a whole lot of "in touch" at least not in the way we do now. I credit/blame "Jimmay Catah" for what we have come to expect these days.

But I really remember an occupant of the White house that really wasn't "in touch" like they are today. That was Richard Nixon. Now I am not talking about the war, or Watergate. He really had a hard time being around "the public" yet, and despite of the way history painted him he still managed to accomplish things that were for the good of the public.

Kennedy was not that in touch from "Camelot" either.

What Nixon and Kennedy had, however, was the fact that they weren't buffoons about it.

Of course Obama thinks that the private sector is doing fine. Almost everyone he's met in the past few months have been 1%er celebrities and business execs who pay $40,000 for dinner with him. Of course, it could also be his socialist outlook that honestly thinks a shrinking of the private sector is a good thing.

I really have grown to despise the terms "Private Sector" and "Public Sector" as though they're two equal sides of the same coin.

    They aren't.

    One produces and one consumes.

Obama doesn't know a lot of things ...... He's been very effective at polarizing this nation.

What was more outrageous to me was the assertion that it was the state and local governments that were not fine and that the Federal Government needed to help out.

The Fed has no damn business helping out the states. Let the states and local governments handle it already. Big centralized federal control - that is what Obama is all about. Oh, and also, the folks he wants to help are all union teachers, firefighters and policemen. Jeez, when is this guy going to get some new ideas on the economy already.
  12. Since Obama has never worked in the private sector or ran a private business...and neither has most of the people he surrounds himself would he know HOW the private sector is really doing?

I take it the "just fine" remark wasn't on his TelePrompTer.
