Perhaps President Obama and the Democrats are learning that private business is not required to operate at a loss at the whim of the US government.

Wait, I get it...turn to crime, get arrested, convicted, then receive your shelter, food, medical care, all while surrounded by your like minded brethren. And you get paid, too.

Sorry I missed your point earlier...

    This.

  6. Therefore what?

  7. Obviously the victim of the crime. Of course that means job security for police, lawyers, court employes and the owners of private prisons. It's also more expensive. Where does that money come from? Is your position, "More for prisons and less for welfare and healthcare"?

  8. One more time, more of the same isn't acceptable. What's your solution?

More of the same what? Free enterprise? So you are saying free enterprise isn't acceptable? OK, maybe you should relocate to China.

Before Barry started tinkering with healthcare, there was a safety net for the elderly and poor. Many people had insurance. Most that didn't, either didn't want it, or spent their money on other things.

It wasn't perfect, but it was a lot better than it is now.

    Muscogee,

Maybe we should just give all the poor people a check every month to purchase health insurance. BUT, we cut them a check and they can use it to purchase whatever they want.

We can treat them like adult free men and women and if they decide to buy drugs, liquor, or an uptown apartment with the money it is on them. In other words, maybe it's time we stop treating them like children.

In turn the hospitals can treat the people that have the means to pay. The others, who choose to spend the money elsewhere can figure out how to get healthcare somewhere else.

    Does that sound fair?

Or do you think these poor souls need you to tell them what to do with their money? That somehow, you are better than them and God has put you here to protect them from themselves?

This is a perfect illustration of how your utopia steals the dignity of men and the unbelievable arrogance of the left.

The more you do for people, the less they are able to do for themselves. The lives of the people you purportedly want to help are going to continue to get worse and the helpless become more helpless with every new version of your social programs.

Maybe, just maybe, if we stopped "helping" so much, these people would start looking for work and maybe they would even demand an end to illegal immigration like some of the rest of us. Maybe they would start to help themselves. If they did I would feel a lot better about giving them a hand.

Truth is, you are all about taking away freedom.

Per Radar O'reilly, "That is all".

    Regards,
    Happyguy :)

One more time, Socialists demand to be judged on their pure-hearted :)whistling:) intentions rather than on the actual results. One more time. Not going to fly here on GT. Odumbo, Nanzi Pelosi and Scary Greed broke the healthcare system. Obama lied. Healthcare died.

Lower costs by allowing portability of policies across state lines and across jobs.

If someone has a single game console, internet service, cable tv, a tv, or any other luxuries in their home, and their child does not have health insurance, charge them with neglect.

    Accept the facts.
    1. health care is a commodity.
    2. People should be responsible for themselves.
    3. Poor people already had a safety net.
    4. The elderly already had a safety net.
    5. Everyone dies at least once. A basic level of first aid and comfort care should be available to all.
    6. Stealing is wrong even, when you get Barry to do it for you.

Don't bother. I demolished him in a couple threads a few years ago when he was spouting the virtues of Germany's social programs. When pressed musc's brain, or lack thereof, implodes.
