    Thats a very clean Nova..Hard to see in the pic but what tires are you running on the back?

    Thanks! Those are just some cheap burn out tires. My car is not tubbed so right now the biggest tire I can put under it is 255-70, but I'm getting ready put my 9" in and relocate the shocks so I can get a wider tire under there.

    Cool Thanks, but I already have my rearend though. I bought it from a guy with a 69 he decided to go all out prostreet. He's got the widest tires you can buy under his car now. They've got some sweet looking housings. Post a pic of your car when you get a chance.

    I don't care I like pretty much any hot rod or muscle car. I was really wanting a GTO or late 60's fastback Mustang when I found this car, but I just couldn't pass it up. Plus GTO's and late 60's stangs are getting way too pricey. It's hard to find a good straight Nova. I've done a lot of performance upgrades, but the body and paint was already done.

    You run it at the track yet? If so what kind of times you getting?

    I ran it once just to see and couldnt make another pass due to no roll bar or cage. Ran an 11.88 on BFG radials.that motor is going in my sons car and I'm building a new one for mine.

    That's awesome. I'm in the same boat (no cage). My buddy's that drag all the time told me to just work on my launch and not run it out till I get that down cause they'll shut me down too. I ran mine with those cheap tires and the best I could get was in the low to mid 12's smoking the tires off down the track. I'm looking to seriously reduce my times with the 9" and a set of slicks.

    Just make sure you run a driveshaft safty loop with the slicks or they'll shut you down again..

    I'm getting ready to install the 9'', new springs all around, relocate the shocks, new traction bars, loop the drive shaft, go through the tranny, and blanket it.

    These are old pics when the motor was in my other car. It now has a demon carb, msd billet dist and wires.

    What heads are you running? The motor in my pics are Dart but My new motor will have AFR.

    Dart pro 1's, steel crank, H-beam rods, roller cam and rockers, 13-1 compression.

    Yeah you should have no problem getting that out of the 12's.
