I was at the range this weekend, met quite a few interesting new shooters. Warmed my heart to see this after what seemed to be a decline a while back.
I even let one shoot my rifle, now they want one.

    Dear Darth Sandi,

I know you are not my real father,

And NO, I am not interested in the power of the Dark side.

    Okay....

I don't even understand this. I mean, I get that somehow you are trying to snipe at Jsandi, but what does this even mean?

I read the article and found it to be interesting.

Off duty cops should get dinged (if they are so stupid as to not know when to slow down and what lights have cameras... )... on duty, no way in hell should they be accountable if they were en route to a legit call, lights and sirens or not.

The point you are missing is the posts you quote are a response to someone who apparently thinks their mission in life is to post negative stories about cops.

Officers in my department must review each violation. We don't get tickets on or off duty from our cameras.

Post an article about that, troll. :wavey:

No, I get it. I have read previous threads. I just don't see how this particular thread is a "negative". It's a news article, presented as such, and allows the reader to draw their own inferences from it.

Personally, I don't infer any negativity towards LE from the OP's post, but maybe I need to develop a complex or something...? :whistling:

or maybe just hone your observational and comprehension skills.

Maybe you could start with Jsandi's own explanation for why he posts what he does.

There's no issue on the surface, but let's look at some threads started by the OP:

Article detailing a department buying expensive guns every few years.

Overbearing police charge little kid with toy gun.

Mean cop "illegally" arrests guy and gets job with the NRA

EDITED: Diabled cop is losing his house; another poster implies he "bought too much house".

"ATF coverup" in thread title. Enough said.

ATF allows guns into Mexico. Of course they do.

All these cops are getting killed because cops are thugs and have lost society's respect.

Police chief uses IA to harass and intimidate.

EDIT to add: Article implying poor police work.

EDITED TO ADD: Off duty cops gets shot acting like an idiot.

EDITED TO ADD: "dead cop" issues red light tickets.

EDITED TO ADD: Cops "illegally" arrest people videotaping them.

These are all the threads he's STARTED in the past week. Every one is something negative about law enforcement.

Are you confusing him with another poster? He has only one post (unedited) in that thread, which is the first post. The only thing in the post is the link to the article. Another poster makes a comment about "buying too much house".

I'm not trying to start a dispite or totally derail this thread, but c'mon, I'm as blue blood of a cop as you could ever hope to find, and I'm not geeking out behind my keyboard about this guy hating cops. He's posting news articles, often with very little commentary to even accompany them.

    :dunno:

I just read the thread...it was PlayboyPenguin. Either his partner in crime or an AE.

Be that as it may (this is my new favorite line thanks to Raylan on Justified), just because someone posts articles which may depict a negative side of LE does not make them anti-LE.

I actually think a lot of the articles are very interesting.

That is all, from me. :wavey:

Red light cameras are nothing new. Around here an on-duty car the roof lights "off" would have to affirm why they needed to go through the red. Photo of a car with the roof lights "on" gets tossed.

I think that ruling makes sense. One of the measures of a non oppressive country is that the same laws apply to everyone. Of course, as we have seen this isn't always the case. Still, it should be our goal. If a squad car is running a red light without sirens and lights it is just as dangerous to others on the road as a POV running a red light.

    Rant?

Pointing out that every single one of the past 9 threads you've started are links to news articles which show law enforcement in a negative light isn't a rant, it's demonstrating your obvious intent. :wavey:

I don't work the street, but I can think of a few perfectly good reasons why one would need to run a red light or do a rolling stop, without hitting the lights.

I do think we should hold ourselves to a high standard, regardless of which side of the fence we work, but this looks like it's just one more way for the whiners to make a street cop's job even more difficult than it has already become.

Chalk one more up for the WAAAAAAAAAH! Generation.

Raise your hand if you have never given a warning.
Raise your hand if you have given a warning but it was to a cop.
Raise your hand if you ever gave a warning to military guy (gal).
Raise your hand if you've given a warning to a non .gov driver

I give warnings every day. I will continue to give them just like I will continue to citations. I use my discretion, modified by time/traffic and attitude.

    Camera enforcement, bbbbahhhhhhhhhhhhh:upeyes:
