    Kumusta sa inyong lahat.

Some info about me: Middle-aged, married with kids and dogs. Live in Cubao and work nearby in IT in the government.

Started shooting in 93. Started with 38 then 357. Tried IPSC and got hooked on the 1911. I have a Norinco now.

Have been lurking in Tactics and Training since 2000/2001. Last year ko lang napansin ang BOG.

Am looking for an Officer's size 1911 hence this post. Anyone has or tried the Armscor CS (compact size) similar to the Officer's. Could you please give me feedback kung okey o hindi.

Sobrang mahal kasi, for me, ng orig. 65T last gun show, baka lampas 75T na next gun show daw.

Since this is a Glock forum I'd like to add bilib ako sa Glock. I've tried a 22 or was it 23. Shot 500 rounds. Nanibago ako sa grip angle at trigger. So I'll stick to the 1911. But the Glock is a good tool and as Musashi said a warrior must have no favorite weapon so I try other guns when I have the opportunity.

    Thanks to all in advance.

Welcome to the forum! I have a buddy back there who have the CD CS. He loves the pistol and no complains after changing some internal parts. I've shot it some and it will do its job if you do yours.

    Hope this helps.

When I was still there he must have put 1000 rds, that was 2.5 yrs ago. I have no idea how often he competes with it but every time he does he sent me mail and praises for his CD and that he shoots better with it than his Beretta. I just to make sure that were talking about the same pistol, is that the 4.something barrel you were asking?

vega, thanks for the quick reply. I think the CS (compact size) has a less than 4 inch barrel. Maybe 3.5 inch. The Armscor website doesn't give the specs. I think the medium size (Commander) is the one with the 4 inch barrel. Also the CS uses 6-round magazines in .45.

In that case, I have no answer to your question. But I do re-call one NBI I met having that as a service pistol. Hindi ko lang alam kung buhay pa siya.

Hi there. The pistol is quite hard to control despite its bull barrel configuration. You can do more research on 1911forum.com. some forum members there specially the ones written by 1911Tuner will tell you that the Browning designed 1911 pistol can be only as effective (if you want it smaller) or reliable in the Commander configuration. The reason is any change of parts on the design requires changing the other parts. There are of course some who find it very good with the help of their ever-loving gunsmiths. Well, perhaps some experimentation is the order of the day. Just my piso.

    semi-auto,

welcome to the forum:) ...just came from the range(armscor) when I remembered your post on the Armscor CS...anyway, I would just want to share my experience when I shot my Armscor CS for the first time( got it yesterday)just this morning at Armscor Range...As expected the recoil was a bit more than you would feel when using a standard gov't model(standard size) such as your norinco..although, I found it not so bad and still controllable(w/ a little practice)...I fired 50 rds of Armscor FMJ(factory ammo) and only had one FTF due to one of my mags...I practiced at 7-10 meters from a target board and had good groupings( considering that I am just a fairly decent shooter)..the sights will have to be drifted a little to the right in order to correct my shooting/hitting the target a little to the left ...the grips needs a little getting to used to(am used to my former 1911 Colt Gov't grip size)but is still comfortable after a couple of mags...overall, I am very satisfied with my little blaster ....Hope my experience could help ....Good luck and safe shooting;f
