    Hi everyone,

I'm new to Glocktalk and also new to Glock pistols. I purchased this Gen4 23 last week after mulling over a few other Glocks. This particular Glock just seemed to fit my hand best and the texture feels really good.

I decided on the .40 because I am not familiar with this round, yet it is plentiful, at least in my area.

I will be looking to get some training in the local area to familiarize myself with the gun and the things that I might need to know since this will be my CCW.

I look forward to communicating with all the pros here on Glocktalk and hope that you can teach me the do's and don't's of owning, handling, and shooting of this Glock.

Great choice on the G23. Perfect all around hand gun. Good size, weight, and caliber!

Congrats on the new G23, and welcome to GT!

My very first Glock was a G23 I picked up new back in 1993. I still have it and shoot it, too. Be sure to check out holsters for fit, since you're going to be carrying it in the future. My favorites are the Comp-Tac MTAC, and the Remora holster. I also use the Comp-Tac Infidel. All are IWB.

    From L-R: MTAC, Infidel, Remora

    Enjoy your new Glock!

Hello INGO23, welcome to Glock Talk. :welcome:

A shielded holster is a comfortable favorite for Inside Waistband (IWB) concealed carry. There are some good choices in this holster type; among the best are the Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC, mentioned above by Beanie-Bean, and the Crossbreed SuperTuck Deluxe.

You should also take a look at the custom shielded holsters made by Glock Talk member Theis. He has a long list of satisfied customers here at Glock Talk. His holsters are a good bargain for quality work and good delivery time. You can visit his web site at TheisHolsters.com.

All of the above holsters have a large number of fans here at Glock Talk.

    Enjoy shooting your Gen4 G23 40S&W!

CONGRATS on your new G23 Gen4! this is really a nice shootin' pistol, with a little "snap", but OK! I also have one & it's my new HD gun with a light located under my bed, just in case a bad guy(s) or zombies decide to break into my house! It replaced my G30 becuz of extra rd capacity. Also, I use G22 mags as spares!

I like this Garret Fusion holster for concealed carrying my new-to-me Glock:

Have not tried other holsters with the Glock(19);but,this one is so comfortable I probably won't try anything else.(for a while). Completely leather lined w/suede and closed cell foam on inside layer.
