My wife had no idea how new it was when one showed up at our LGS, she just knew it fit her hand and it was a .45. That was all it took.

Quite a conversation when she brought it home. It included me telling her "Well if it had been around a while don't you think we would already have one? The owner of the shop said it had just come in that afternoon, that is about as fast as you could have gotten one."

The weather hasn't cooperated for any shooting past 12 yds but it surprised me with its accuracy in semi-casual shooting.
It put all of it's second mag (1st was just fired for function) into the 3" 10-ring of the target. I admit I was shooting with a "Yah, sure, this ought to be amusing" attitude with low expectations.

Not only is it soft shooting for a micro .45 but it's easy to hit with.

+1, although I dont own one but have shot it, the trigger on it is excellent, it felt better than a stock G36 trigger. The grip also feels good and very comfortable. Lets us know how you like it. Im waiting to shot/get the 9mm version.

Mine is one of my favorites to carry. Joe Bob outfitters had the 7-round magazines shipped to me in no time when nobody else on the planet carried them. I use those without the sleeve, so they will fit in my carrier I use for spare/backup magazines.

I will like likely sell my Shield 9 to help cover the cost of the new XD-S 9. I ordered my .45 model from one of the LE shops here, and got the call to come pick it up a week later.

I think that you will like it a lot!

I have been carrying my XD-S for several months now.

It is becoming my favorite gun to carry of all time. Very thin, light, and 6 rounds of 45acp. The grip size is just right for me, and the undercut is high enough that I can just get a full hand grip on it with the flush magazines.

I carry mine IWB (Garrett Silent Thunder Fusion), OWB (Garrett Silent Thunder STX), and in a pocket (Desantis Nemesis). It carries wonderfully in all these applications.

I have had great luck with shooting mine. It's accurate, and reliable, what more is there to ask for? Recoil is a bit stout, but not the least objectionable. The trigger is more like a Glock than an XD, which to me is a good thing. The factory sights are nice, but I put Trijicon HD Night Sights on mine and I'm glad I did.

Be interested to hear your thoughts on it!

I really like that setup a lot. Is that an MTAC?

OP, I was dead set against an XDS when I first heard of it...then I dry fired one and ended up buying one shortly after. Now I'm fairly certain I am going to get another one in 9 for the wife. Awesome trigger, awesome gun!

I shot a friends XDs at the range last week. I put 5 rounds into one hole at 10 yards. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it shot and how light the recoil was for such a small .45. I've been looking to pick one up ever since shooting his.

I really like the XDs .45, seems it would make a great carry gun. :)
