    I love those things!

When I was younger I had an '86 IROC. Aside from the automatic trans, it was an awesome car. I kinda miss her now;1

Yea, I know. Not the fastest thing in the world. My sisters 2000 Grand Am GT with the 3.4L Ram Air V6 gives me a run for the money. ;g ;Q

Oh well. Her car can't do donuts, unless you put in reverse. Plus I think a good ole V8 with nice exhaust sounds 10 times better than any 4 with a coffee can exhaust.

Automatic would not be my first choice, but you could not get the 350 with a stick in the IROC's.

Looks great. I almost bought one years ago, but I just can't stand autos. At least in cars like that.

No, but the right options on a 305 with a stick got you a car that was just as fast and often faster, and more fun to drive, its also easier in my opinion to swap the 305 for a 350 than to convert to the manual. Not to mention both the stock 305 and 350 werent all that great.

Yea I know, but the right 305 5 speed with said "right" options bring outrageous amounts of money around here. Really all the old IROC's bring good money around here.

Is that a '92 Heritage Edition? Don't see those too often. Thats a sweet ride. I do wish mine was a 305/5 speed. Oh well. Maybe an LS1/6 speed will be in my future someday.;Q

Yes it is, with the G92 perf package on the 305. If you want to upgrade yours, not sure if you are looking to, but the LT1/T56 swap im sure would make you more than happy, right now the LS1 swaps just end up costing too much IMO for the performance compared to what you can do with the LT1.

Sweet ride. With the G92 package on it, I bet that thing is wicked fast.

I don't have the time or resources to do a swap right now. Would be a cool sleeper though. I may drive this for a summer or two, and then look for one that somebody has done the conversion on. There was one on ThirdGen.Org that had an LS1/T56, and the complete interior from an '01 SS in it. Looked sweet. Went for like 8K. He said he had 15K in it. Now that would be cool.

Son's '69 yellow paint does not look that good up close, so it is going to be repainted when he gets his year-end bonus.

The black interior was restored several years ago & is excellent, as is the top.

The body is perfectly straight - only one tiny pinhole of rust, the chrome is near perfect and straight.

No bondo except for one minor area next to the left rear quarter wheel well.

The 350 engine & 350 transmission (both already rebuilt) run strong (he put a new Holley carb on it & converted to electronic ignition) - with 140,000 original miles. The engine bay is very clean with new radiator, belts & hoses.

He added disc brakes on front, which necessitated larger rims, new brake master cylinder, & new rubber.

He bought it from my nephew who owned it for 5 years (he only put 300 miles on it in all that time - it sat in his garage). He in turn had bought it from the family which bought it new and had kept it garaged most of it's life - so he was aware of it's real provnance. Nephew had paid $5,000 for it from his buddy, son paid him $10,000 and has invested $3,000 so far. Not bad for $13,000, given today's market.

But I imagine it is not as fast and doesn't handle as well as that beautiful red IROC.

That is a nice ride. I have always wanted a IROC since I was a kid.
