I just purchased a slightly used Bushmaster AR15, it has an A3 flat upper, and a 16.5" 1x9 twist bull barrel. It has not flash suppressor of any kind, the previous owner told me it shoots just fine without it being a bull barrel.

    I wanted to ask you:

    1) Is it OK to fire 5.56 ammo in this barrel ?

    2) What weight bullets are preferable

    3) What is the proper way to load Magpul and Military 30 round magazines ? The previous owner suggested loading it full 30, chamber one round for on the ready with safety on, and leave the mag with 28 or 29 rounds.

    4) Finally, I've heard springs on these mags never fail is this true ? or do I have to replace the springs after how long of being loaded to full capacity ?

    best regards

69 or 77gr bullets will be more accurate than most 55 or 62 gr bullets.
If the barrel is stamped 5.56 then it should be ok to fire mil ammo through it.
Most load the mags to 29 rounds, I have some GI mags that have been loaded since 93, it may not be the best thing to do though, if you can, alternate full mags every year.
