I received my 9mm Trojan the other day, this is my second 1911, I traded in my 1st a Springfield Loaded in order to purchase this one. I mainly wanted to get something cheaper to shoot for range purposes, I plan on saving for a nice 45 again in the future. I order from Shooters Connection, and got the standard finish with a fiber optic front sight and an ambi safety. She arrived covered in oil, and filthy, certainly seems they put some rounds through it before sending. The slide to frame fit is tight, however doesn't seem any tighter than my NM loaded was. However the slide pull is smooth as silk. It seems everything else was fitted nicer, the grip safety, mainspring housing, etc all blend real smooth. Barrel locks up tight. I broke her down and cleaned her. The bushing is finger tight, I expected tighter based on other reviews. The bushing to barrel fit is actually kind of loose in my opinion, not sure if this should be cause for concern or not. I can't wait to shoot it, unfortunately we have a lot going on this weekend, so maybe some night this week I can get to the range. I cleaned with ballistol, and lubed with some Wilson oil. I just can't seem to get a clean finish on the exterior to make it picture worthy. Any advice to eliminate finger prints, and just some unevenness on the exterior finish after cleaning?

I know pics are required, i'm totally that guy right now. I must say though that the bar has been set high for these photo sessions and right now i don't have any donuts or a photo box. The least I can do is wait for some natural light tomorrow

Congrats! Anything made in Texas is worth buying :) Never heard a bad word about STI guns. Believe it or not they are kinda rare around here.

I am thinking about getting a Trojan, maybe the Magnum variety which I think just "fits" me better..........

I've had a couple STI guns and have ordered through Shooters Connection. Both are great.

Or one of the silicon impregnated gun cloths. BTW, congrats! I'm sure you will like it; I have 2 STIs and they are fine weapons.

Unfortunately I am at work and can't appease the masses. In the mean time I will post this:
