I'm very excited about this pistol.

I think it could be a game-changer in the single-stack CCW market.

Why? It looks like a miniature single-stack XDM, which we all know is a good quality pistol.

All that I've ever wanted was something like a compact, single-stack Glock 26 or XDM.

All of the other existing small guns are either unreliable, too small of a caliber, have bad features, or are simply too fat and not very "small".

Beretta Nano = Crappy trigger, high bore axis.
Walther PPS = Crappy mag release system.
    Kahr = Krappy reliability!
    Ruger LC9 = too fat
    Glock G26/27/36 = too fat
    .32s/.380s = too weak

I missed it too. Lots of people did. It was kept very "hush hush" until it was released a few days ago at the SHOT Show 2012.

Springfield is going to be releasing this gun in 9mm and .40 S&W too, supposedly. Hopefully with the stainless slide as an option.

Maybe this will satisfy a lot of the people demanding a single stack Glock, or get Glock to actually work on such a beast. With their US production facility going strong now it shouldn't be an issue if they *want* to produce a really small, single stack CCW gun.

This little XD looks cool. Wouldn't give up my G19 for it, but I can see where it could come in handy as a secondary gun for me. Would be most interested in the 9mm version when it comes out.

My Sig P220 Compact weighs in at 38oz fully loaded, so 29oz empty for this doesn't seem too bad.

I agree. Although, I like the idea. It's the perfect answer for the Glockers who have been begging for a single stack. I know it's not a Glock, but my XD/XDm's are as solid as any of my Glocks and it sounds like SA has been listening.

    There's going to be a 9mm
don't get me wrong i love 45 acp but a pistol that small i think 9mm would be easier to control (and cheaper to shoot)

Well in 45 it's a g36. Once the 40 and 9 are released then it answers the glockers wishes

    5+1 killed any interest I had in getting one...rather carry a G30 or 36...or the G32 Gen 4 I'm getting tomorrow!

  14. Kahr has 2 but they don't work..

This one is heavy, has a grip safety and holds 5 rounds... therefore after the novelty wears off it just blows...

I say all of this in the nicest possible way of course...

29 oz, are you freaking kidding me ? The 45 XD compact weighs that and holds twice as many rounds (though obviously loaded weight would be a bit more)

Looks like a nice CCW indeed. I think 6 rounds is adequate. :)
