Just ordered the 24419 model 870P from Bud's last Thursday. Should be in this week and I can't wait. I got rid of my 590A1 20" for a few reasons. Between the longer barrel and the long LOP it was just too big for what my intended use was(home defense). I figured by the time I put on a reduced LOP or even a Knoxx stock I'd have almost as much into it as I would just buying an 870P to begin with. Anyone have an 870P with the R3 pad? If so, how is it? Hopefully I'll be testing it out next weekend.

The R3 is made for Remington by Limbsaver and one of the best pads out there.

I picked an 870P up awhile back great shotgun and I like the wood furniture. I made three changes to the weapon. I installed a larger safety button also put a wilson combat +2 extension on it. The last thing was a XS tritium bead front sight. Good to go.

I know LimbSaver completely changed my gun... when i got the m930SPX brand new, and finally shot it, it was not fun for me. it didn't cause me CRYING pain, but it caused me enough to say, I do not enjoy doing this.

I tried a few more times and thought, I can't wield this in a HD situation cause I wouldn't be payn attn to the bad guy... shoot!

I got the LimbSaver after recomendations, and it chnanged EVERYTHING. I mean changed everything!

  5. One of the things I did before Remington switched from the R3 to the Supercell pads was to stock up on the R3s for the IV-S.

Sounds like the R3 is a winner. I can't wait to try it out!

It is one of the better pads out there. I have one on my 700 and 870P.
