Just picked up my brand-new P227 from the LGS. Not my first Sig, but my first with E2 grips. I have installed the SRT and can't wait to get it to the range!
Congrats! Sweet gun for sure...I want one but can't get past the fact that the glock30s is half the size and weight and holds the same number of bullets!
I look forward to your review...as for the G30S and P227 comparison...they seem to be made for two different reasons...I'm not saying one is better than the other (I own a G30S and a P220) but one is easier to carry and one might be easier to shoot...the best news is we can own both or either one and still be happy...

I have a 30S as well as other .45's and each serves a different purpose. The 30S is great for CCW (although mine has a lot of reliability issues to be ironed out, but in theory I agree with you, and all I use for CCW are Glocks). My HKs are for the truck/ranch. And my Sigs are great to shoot, but they do tend to mostly be range toys.
And I know there are a lot of DA/SA haters out there, but I like the triggers. Not a fan of manual safeties, but the SRT and I are good friends
i've been looking at the sig p227 nitron carry ,close in size weight to my 30sf with exception of height,4.8 compared to 5.5, more importantly nearly twice $$. i think i'll start saving my allowance.
Haha, yeah I hear ya. I run out of room so quickly for my picture limit. I posted it in a similar thread in the General Firearms section that has a picture. But I'll try again here...

I picked up a Sig 227 a few weeks ago, I love it! I'm one of the people that have been writing and calling Sig. for years to build it, because I love the way the 226 handles but i'm a .45 guy
I installed the short reset trigger (absolutely should have come from the factory that way) because it shoots so much better with it. Drewcog, wait until you shoot it with the SRT !! Its my most accurate factory pistol. I have about 800 rounds through mine without any drama.
It cant compete with the G30 for concealability, that's no contest.
Just got back from the range. Only shot 100 rounds through it as we had a bunch of firearms with us. All 230gr FMJ (PMC Bronze) and all were flawless. It was also a test of my amateur gunsmithing skills, and the SRT worked great. I have it on all my Sigs.
I started off shooting low-left and had to work on my grip and squeeze as I shoot my Sigs the least of the handguns I own. But once I was comfortable with the grip, everything stayed in a mostly 2" group at 8 yds. A few strays of course =)
