I wasn't expecting this so soon, but getting it early was nice. I have to give George at Gunslingers credit. I doubt he's on this site but if I decide to post on TOS I'll just copy this.

George ordered this pistol for me without receiving my deposit to save me from NH's price increase. If that wasn't good enough, he sent me this BEFORE my Cashiers Check reached him. I doubt too many people would do this, just speaks volume for him and way I'll buy from him again in the future.

    Now, on to the pistol.

I decided to strip it down just to see how things looked and felt. I have noticed four nice features

    1. This frame does have the VIS - I know this isn't 100% needed off the bat, but it's there.

    2. The guide rod has a bevel to minimize impacting the lower lugs. After noticing some wear on my recent SA Custom that didn't have this bevel, I've been paying attention more.

    3. The slide has a bevel/recess for the disconnector. There was a post on TOS about this but I'm too lazy to look for it. None of my other 1911's have this so this just caught my eye.

    4. The slide stop has a recess so that it pushes straight in. This helps to prevent idiot scratches, again something none of my other 1911's have.

I won't shoot this until after this weekend, I may do a range report or comparison vs my SA Custom. One nice thing that was unexpected was NH included a Dawson rail adapter. Too bad I already had one, but I'll either keep it around or sell it.

The trigger on this NH is perfect, not too light and has the perfect break. My SA feels a little sloppy in comparison so I may end up getting that looked into.

The barrel lockups tight with no play, the barrel bushing is much looser than a Baer or SA but that doesn't bother me.

NH didn't tune the grip safety as well as I would have liked. I have all my 1911's so that it takes the least amount of pressure to disengage the GS. This is a simple fix.

The only gripes I have are the magazine release feels like it has a weak spring and the magwell could have been blended a little better. Again, easy fixes.

I didn't take much time with photos, I'm lazy this time of year.

    Thanks all.

I foolishly sold my railed SA Pro last year, but I feel this one should make up for it nicely.

The order was finalized on 8/31 or 9/1...it was quoted at 16-20 weeks, so I was surprised about getting it so quick figuring I went with Ionbond.
