Hello, fellow Glockers! I've been lurking around for a while doing research, but now I'm ready to jump in full force. I live in the Raleigh area and recently purchased my first Glock. My first firearm purchase ever was an XD9 that didn't work out for several reasons, so I traded 'up' to a Gen3 Glock 17. :cool:Tried the Gen4 but the 3 just felt a little better in the hand. Of course I'm already looking at new sights and all sorts of other gear, so I'm sure I'll have more questions for you all.

I'm glad to finally be a part of the Glock community!

  2. My wife likes the XD9, and I like the G4 17. That makes you a Commie!

    (Just kidding)

Welcome. I was born in Greensboro, but haven't lived there for 18 years. Have a glass of sweet tea for me.

That's just the kind of crap I'd expect from a New Yorker!!! :tongueout: Probably best not to have a flame war in my first thread....

I made a mistake buying the XD before trying out a lot of different handguns because it was a good deal. After that I learned that I preferred the simplicity of the Glock, but I had no real issues with the Springfield.

As for the G4, I'm sure I will own one someday. Not surprisingly I'm already looking at getting a second Glock, and I may go G4 so I can spend some extended time comparing the two.

    Thanks for the welcome, everyone!
