    Just bought a Glock 23 wanted to go with a .40 for self/home defense...looked at S&W MP.40...the glock felt better. I also own a S&W Model 64-3, and a Ruger .22 Mk1 and a .30-.30

I plan on getting a CCW also.....I've shot before and was a marksman in the military.....I want to be as proficient and professional as possible......whats the thoughts on replacing the recoil guide with a SS one?

The recoil spring system that came with your G23 should be fine as is. Change the recoil spring every 3000 rounds or so and you should have no problems.
