I picked up a new G37 Gen 4 today. I photographed the new Gen 4 along side a standard G37. The Recoil Spring and Guide unit is a number 01 for those that are curious. The BOD was 08-16-10.

Got it from Ed's Public Safety in GA. I tracked them down thru my local Glock Rep who put me in touch with Ed's. Shipped to my FFL in California. They may have some left from the Fla contract over run.

Nice, that may be a rare animal for a while. I doubt glock will be producing g4 37 for the civilian market until the more popular models are out 26/23/32/27/33/21/30

As far as i know they were suppose to be next in line after the G31. The G38 will follow the G32 which will follow the G23.

No they are not on the Calif DOJ list. I was able to get it as a LEO with a letter.

My Gen 4 G-37 arrived yesterday. Ordered from Ed's late Friday after seeing Doubletaps5105's post. Great service!! I'm looking forward to using it in GSSF matches.

Hey Guys, How is the recoil compared to the GEN 3??????? Are they "SOFT" shooting?

Well I took the Gen4 37 to our Dept Range day. I used Winchester 230 ball and some Speer 200 GDHP. I had 100% function despite the new tight magazines. Perceived recoil was less then the 40 S&W out of the G22. The G37 tracked very well across multiple targets. I was able to make all the head shots on the Gunsite 250 drill  . I am glad I picked this gun up. Now if only Glock would build the extended magazines for the 37 that they make for the 22.

Ed's Public Safety now has 5 Gen 4 Model 37's in stock. They had 6 a few minutes ago. :devildance:

I called them and they gave me the discount because I'm retired FD/LEO. They said they are shipping it overnight and it should be here tomorrow.

    :dancingbanana:

To the young lady who answered the phone and took my order.

    :yourock:

She took my order, offered to coordinate with my local FFL dealer and called me back with tracking numbers for shipment.

You took my gun ... will have to get #5 now, DARN :)
Had an email exchange w/Don Anderson from Ed's this morning to get an update on whether or not the Gen4 38's have come in.

    Congrats on the 37.

You Bull-Dawgs have truly got my head spinning. I had finally settled down with the big 3-calibers ... but over the past few months just about all I can think about is GAP - I must have read everything out there trying to convince myself why I shouldn't make the switch!

I've got 9mm/.40 sized-hands but raised with a 'bigger the hole the better' mentality (for firearms related stuff at least - you guys have some dirty minds!). 1911's in .45 ACP was all I had since 16 (I'm in my double-twenties now) and for the first time in many years I'm considering a new caliber - not really a big deal ... the GAP round just makes sense .. especially for my hands and hole requirements.

Anyway, budget is really tight these days and I can't just buy a couple of guns on a whim ... I also have to consider the fact that I need to buy practice and SD ammo too.

I definitely want a Gen4 - the short frame and larger mag release surface is just what the doctor ordered for me. Toss up between the Gen4 22/23 or the Gen4 37/Gen3 39 (will wait for the Gen4 38 - should be any day now).

I'm thinking of a 39 for now (even though not out in Gen4, will sell the Gen3 39 I buy now when the Gen4 39's are released later this year). Hope the wait for the 38's isn't much longer ... sure would like to snag one of those in the next couple of days.

Sorry to hijack/wonder off point - any insight that might help me make the decision would be appreciated.
