Glock has had a single stack 45 for a long time. The XD just keeps copying. Don't hold your breath for a single stack 9mm or 40 from XD or Glock.

Time will tell if your right or not. Should be a very interesting year. I'm thinking S/A will have a 9mm single stack on the market is a couple months. One thing S/A seems to listen to what there customers want.

Or they copied the Kahr PM45, or maybe that whole single stack 1911 thingy that has been going on for all these years

Hmm...I've always liked the XD 45, but I disliked the large grip. A single stack XD 45...I can dig it.

Yeah, because before Glock there had never been any single stack .45 ACP pistol.

I think they were refering to taking a wonder 9 and turning it into a slim .45. Most other single stack .45's were designed to be that way.

Have to admit I chuckled to at the copying Glock statement. Just didn't want to get into that nonsense.

Very nice! But only 5 rounds versus the Glock 36's 6 rounds. I think I'll hold on to my 36. I do have to say I like the light rail which I wish the 36 had. It would make a cool add on for the Gen 4 36, but I do not see that happening.

According to some, SA might be coming out with a single stack 9mm....internet rumor but so was a single stack 45. Not a fan of just 5 or 6 rounds though.

Looks pretty nice, I wonder how it compares to a PM45 in size?

Me too, I'm carrying 6 rounds of .40 right now so swapping for 6 rounds of .45 is no problem. Nice design, I'm looking forward to seeing this gun in the shops.

The 45 acp XDS may be knew to Springfield Armory but it is not new to Glock

The G36 45 is ever so slightly bigger where it counts

    G 36................... XDS

    Width 1.10 ...........1.0 less than 1/8"
    Length 6.97...........6.3
    Height 4.76 ...........4.4
    weight L 26.98........29 oz
    Barrel L 3.78 ..........3.3

G36.1/8 of an inch in wider.
    G36 5/8 longer barrel advantage
    G36 is lighter
    G36 hold 7 rounds total XDS 6

My choice would be the reliable Glock 36

Nice to have another plastic single stack 45 option. My G36 was dead nuts reliable but for some reason, I just couldn't shoot it for ****. I shoot all my other Glocks very capably; the 36 just didn't like me I guess. I'd like to get some trigger time behind the XD. Honestly, it's the first XD to pique my interest at all.

A single stack 9mm XD would make a heck of a lot more sense than a .45.

How are you taking a 9mm double stack and turn it into a slim .45?

XD already have the double stack .45 and they just simply slimmed it down to single stack. Makes perfect sense to me - cater to the people who have smaller hands and still want .45ACP pistol.
