    Hi;

    I have received via e-mail a small executable program 88kb in size.
    The file extension is .swf and it lists in windows directory as a Shockwave Flash Object under file type.

    My computer has both Macromedia Shockwave Player and Macromedia Flash Player installed, and yet when I attempt to execute the program, the Cannot open this file dialog box comes up asking if I want to use the web service to identify the program needed to open the file. Search reveals .swf as shockwave.

    Any ideas on how I can get this small program to run?

    Seanmac, it might just be that your version of FlashPlayer is an older one.

    Have you gone to the Macromedia site to check for newer versions?

    Good luck,

    Thanks gents;

    A relative supplied the fix and it's weird, but works.

    The file has to be opened using Internet Explorer, NOT Macromedia's Shockwave program.

    Weird.
