Hello everyone, I bought my Kimber Classic Custom 1911 from a fellow GlockTalker a few years ago. It is my first and only 1911. I absolutely love my Kimber, it shoots great. I believe it was built around 1997-98. My only issues are the grips and the sights. The sights are original to the gun and the grips are made by RAASCO and I believe they are smooth linen phenolic. They are very nice grips, I just don't like them because of how smooth they are. I did add some grip tape to the front strap which really helped my control. I like the feel of the wraparound finger groove grips but they don't allow me to get a good high grip that I like. I also want grips that fit the S&A magwell like these RAASCO grips do. What grips do you all like? As far as the sights, they work great for accuracy, but I have a hard time finding the front sight when shooting faster. I hate to remove the sights completely being that it is an older gun. I thought about a little sight paint on the front sight but I don't know?? The shooting I do mostly is informal with friends, mostly plates, targets, dueling tree, etc. I can't shoot really fast but I could be quicker if I could pick up. The front sight quicker. I need ideas. Thanks Outdoor Hub mobile, the outdoor information engine Wanna kill these ads? We can help!
