    I have a Glock 23C that I change to the .357 Sig C barrel.
I need a good load for the .357 SIG.
    I buy in bulk. - I use Berrys 124gr. FP (.355)
I have Bullseye powder or Accurate Arms #5 powder.
    Thanks in Advance... :wavey:

  2. I'm away from my data at the moment. My only caution with the projectiles you have listed is don't try to push them too fast. Start out at the bottom of the data and work up, keeping an eye out for leading if you push them too hard.

    Hi Thanks for the advice.
I am not looking for a hot load.
    Just something to practice with.
If you have any of your loads could you please send them?

IMO, you don't have a suitable powder for the 357sig. WHile any powder can be used in any caliber, small volumn, medium burner like AA#5 is barely marginal & BE is way too fast, especially for the setback prone 357sig. Fastest powder I will use is Unique & w/ a plated bullet, 1250fps is about max for best accuracy. Longdhot, BlueDot, PP, HS6, AA#7 are all better choices for the 357sig.

Get a slower powder. Bullseye is one of the fastest around, and not appropriate for this high pressure cartridge.

I suggest going with a slower powder such as Alliant Power Pistol. My load with Berry's bullets:

    124 grain Berry's 9 mm flat point
    8.2 grains Alliant Power Pistol
    Winchester standard small pistol primer
    COAL = 1.135"
    Crimp light to moderate

I must concur with the idea that you do not have a suitable powder for the 357.

AA#9 or Blue Dot are the powders you want to be working with.

The following website does list BE and AA5 loads for 125 gr bullet weights for the .357 Sig; but I do not know their source for the loads...

(Loads listed are max loads, do not start there...)

I really like HS-6 as well. Using it for various 9mm (125gr LRN), .40 (140gr and 180gr LFP), and .357 Sig (124gr plated) loads. Meters much better than Unique for me. I've been testing it out recently with various bullets in those 3 calibers and having good luck so I'm going to bulk up on it.

PS - And without the muzzle blast of Power Pistol!

I use Bluedot in everything if for no other reason than it is easy to get and I could find a recipe for it in atleast one of my reloading manuals. But I have to admit that I am new to reloading but I am producing more accruate ammo than what I have bought from factory. Hear is what I use in my 357 sig G 33.

    10/30/2010 10MM 180 Grain Magtech Bluedot 10.2 Very good load. 1.260 -1.250
11/13/2010 357 sig 115 fmj midway brand round nose and xtp hp Bluedot 8.1 Not bad didn't shoot as hard as the factory loads that I have for it. Were accurate though. 1.139 -1.140
11/20/2010 357 sig 115 fmj midway round nose and xtp hp Bluedot 8.6 Don't really shoot any better than the first load. need to try about 9 grains. 1.139 -1.140
11/23/2010 357 sig 115 hp hornady xtp Bluedot 9 Accurate but recoil is very heavy. Just as accurate as other loads. Loads I think didn't shoot as much as others because of recoil. 1.139 -1.140

A FYI, your 9gr of BD under a 115grXTP is making less than less than 1300fps in a 4"bbl, even less in the G33. I don't think it's so much recoil as muzzle blast in the shorter bbl. I run 9.8gr under a 124grFMJ for 1360fps in my HK USP.

  14. Here is a couple of loads/data from my G33, Lone Wolf barrel, AA#7, and Montana Gold 124gr JHP.

I prefer the 9.5-6gr load, easy to shoot and accurate.

But then that is barely 9mm level so the question would be why not just carry a 9mm in that size gun? I can easily get 1175fps w/ several 124gr handloads & the BlackHills 124gr+P gets 1220fps in my G26? I love the 357sig, but I want 1300fps from it, not 1150fps.

Not sure what wd's reasoning is, but I carry a Glock 32 with full power loads. BUT, I like to use my exact carry gun in competition (IPDA, Steel Challenge, etc) and for that I like to develop reduced power loads for that gun. Same trigger, same gun, same sights, just lower recoil, hence the more like 9mm .357 Sig loads.

    So it depends on context.

  17. When I carry my G33 I have it loaded with factory loads. When I practice I use reloads and I like to concentrate on trigger control, repetition, and handling. And... I don't have a 9mm.

I can understand that, but then a G26 would be slightly cheaper to shoot, same platform, same trigger.:dunno: I will download my practice ammo a bit, 1250fps in a P239, when using lead or plated bullets, but that is mostly for accuracy reasons. If you want to run jaround 1200fps, try 7gr of Unique or WSF, save a bit of powder, maybe better accuracy than downloading AA#7.
