Wife got a speeding ticket on the way to OBX this pst Monday (she's due home tonight). Since Wednesday we've gotten eight letters from NC law firms. We don't open each others mail.

    Should I assume:

    a) she's shopping for a divorce, or

    b) NC sells ticketing info to their Bar Assoc.?

    Thanks.

Tickets are subject to open information. All they need to do is leave an intern at the office the tickets are turned in to and to report back on them. In our area, tickets are listed in the paper each Wednesday.

It's B, and if I were you (her) I would call around to those different offices and talk with them. I've gotten a few speeding tickets in NC :embarassed: , but I called around and have had every single one of them dropped for less then ~$200.00.

NC allows ambulance chasers. But, not all lawyers in NC are like that.

You'l get more, it'll be to around 20 by the time they are done. They come into the office all the time to get copy of all the wreck reports as well. Hell, even some of the body shops have started coming in and getting them as well.

Somehow they get them electronically. Most tickets written these days are submitted electronically these days and aren't actually turned into an office anymore. All the troopers are electronic and most locals are as well.

I got a ticket in NC once and never got anything in the mail. 80something in a 60, IIRC. :)

I'm a SC resident, so I dunno if that makes any difference.

Where did she get the ticket? Was it a deputy or trooper?

Tyrrell Co.? 64 two lane in the swamp west of Manteo. She didn't notice the officer's affiliation because, and this is true, she was TEXTING at the time.

    Sigh......
