Toyota Standard Sedan?
Damn....you are close, so very close (technicality)
Yep. "Toyota" was an arbitrary name change because it worked better for the marketing. (although they say it is better luck or some BS) the family name was "Toyoda"
the designer was almost run over by a Chrysler Airflow at some point.
Yeah, just like Nissan used to be
Datsun! Which frankly I liked better. What prompted the name change I know not. Not sure what the point was.
That was not the same thing, Datsun (DAT was the name of the company) was taken over by Nissan.
BTW, Nissan is bringing the Datsun brand back in a few markets (not ours)
I'm going with a 1936 Toyota AA. Make that a replica, according to the wikipedia picture you've posted
The cars were always Nissan, but when they got ready to market in this country the thought was that there were too many veterans with a fresh memory of fighting Nissan tanks, and armored cars, and such like that.
All I know is that a Scion is a Toyota and a Lexus is a Toyota and a Nissan is an Infiniti and a Lincoln is a Ford. Also, a Honda is an Acura.
For the win!
