...well by today's standards at least. There is a back story to this one but I don't think I'll go into great detail, if at all. I wanted something unique and planned out my parts accordingly.

I found the builder who I thought could give me what I wanted for the amount I wanted to spend. It was scheduled to delivery hours ago, but since we got some nasty ice, it was delayed.

I may hit the range tonight to finish my 1000 round test but don't know if I feel like it yet. Since it showed up late all I have is one teaser photo, time to get back to work.

I fill in the specs later :tongueout:

    Right behind you...
Awesome love GI projects. Did you modify the grip safety yourself for the hammer?

I guess that's ok. I'm a little disappointed GJ. I was hoping for a HelloKitty blaster. :tongueout:

I've long been a fan of "less is more" 1911's.

Stop right there, don't do anything else to it. That gun is beautiful in a simple, purposeful way. I like!!

Have no fear, I still have 3 more that should arrive this year. I won't let you down.

No, but I'm trying to get a Harrison build going. I know RMA is lucky enough to be getting one since I recommend he use John for his project.

I'm close to FW, but not that close :wavey:

Oh you're good. The thumb safety is a Wilson 6BN...I think that's the part number. Not sure about the barrel bushing...I didn't ask for a particular one. The front sight is dovetailed, they just did a good job of blending.

Basic run down of the specs:

    Kart Match Barrel and Bushing
Dovetail Front sight with Gold bead, blended to slide
    Harrison Rear Sight
    Wilson Thumb Safety
Vickers Hammer, Sear, Disco - 3.5-4# Pull
    Reliability Tuning
    Wilson BP Extractor
    Lower and Flare Ejection Port
    Harrison Long Trigger
    Baer MSH, 20 LPI
    EGW Slide Stop
    EGW Firing Pin Stop
    Wilson Plunger Tube
    Carry Bevel
    Bevel Magwell
    10-8 Pin Set
    Wolff Springs
    Matte Bluing

I did not have the frame/slide tightened since this one wasn't too bad. I figure I'll spend the money saved on more components.

I'm hitting the range for my 1K test of my SA Custom so this one will go along for the ride, but I only plan for 150-200 rounds in it. GI grip safeties don't like my hands for high round shooting...

As for who built it :dunno:

I can neither confirm nor deny

I'll let it be known tomorrow...that SA Custom Shop built this. That is unless someone quotes this.

Thanks to all, I've been missing a plain, no frills 1911.

On a serious note, I have all the original parts, what would a reasonable asking price be? I'm thinking around $85???
