here are my two children. blue and star.

ive noticed what seems to be a few pitbull haters on here. there not all bad dogs and any dog regardless of breed can bite. give em a chance. there great dogs.

I dunno who is who in these pics but I *love* the markings on the one with the black and white face!

Eh, pitts aren't evil. No more so than dobies and rotties have a rep for being. Every pitty, rottie or dobie I ever met was a total sweetheart.

Here's Harlo, with the older set of twins. The best we, and the vet figure she's 3/4 pitt and something else...

She's a 1-2 year old female rescue Tennessee who had her first litter of pups at the rescue org. She's extremely docile, and so far has only been "aggressive" trying to crawl, wiggle, and roll into laps and Mrs. Dual and I on the bed. She's made the younger twins cry a few times, because she does not understand that 55lbs of dog can't fit in 35'lbs of little girl lap...

We've had her for two weeks so far. And is by far the best behaved dog we've ever owned. All the hectic running around the day we brought her home meant Mrs. Dual and I ate take-out food in bed for dinner. Harlo sat there and never once begged or even sniffed at our food. I did not know a dog could do that...

She is covered in scars though, and is still working some scabs out of her fur even after being at the rescue for three months to bear and wean her pups.

She's had a hard life before our home, that's for sure.

thanks for rescuing her. i rescued star and she is the best behaved dog ive ever had. just last night i brought her to a bbq and she was playing with the little kids there and kissing everyone and being great. theyre great dogs despite all the negative media attention. if a lab or poodle bit or attacked someone or something , you would never here about it , but if a pitbull or a dog like slightly resembles a pitbull , its plastered all over the nation.

This is our Straffordshire Bull Terrier (we call him a "pocket pit") Will, with his friend Jack, a miniature poodle. It's weird how scared people get when faced with this 25 lb monster. Clearly, the poodle isn't frightened - they play together all day long.

We couldn't even find an apartment in Maryland that we could rent because of our dog's breed. People are idiots.

    Good thread.

most dog problems are dog owner problems.

i had a pit as a kid and a neighbor went to jail for poisoning it. i would own another one even though i had one attack my GSD and Pomm. dogs arent evil, they just dont know any better.

    good looking dogs!

We have one in our rescue right now... here's him at an adoption day...

It's not easy to find fosters or homes for these guys. We're one of the few organizations in the state that will take them in, and we have a concrete limit of two at any one point in time.

College Station, Texas. Impact Animal Foundation is the name... used to be Woodstock if you're familiar with the rescues in the area, but there was a changing of the guard. I like working with them because they're not the usual "Oh, we can always take one more!" crazy animal people rescue. They have rules and procedures that are solidly thought through and in place, they have reasons behind them, and they enforce them. Here's Roscoe's page on the Impact site.
