He will be serving an LDS mission in Iloilo.
Any one in Iloilo?
not me, sorry.
congrats, he'll have a great time.
Just make sure that he doesn't come back with the whole freakin' extended family.
Congrats - my co-worker's son-in-law mission was in the PI as well. Said he had a blasts and learned the language pretty good.
I was born there. That's all I have to offer.
There is some truth in this.
Believe it or not this is pretty serious advice
Cross post in Band of Glockers yet? Congrats on your son's mission. Great way to see the world!
I have friends who were stationed there in the service. All the girls want a free ride to the U.S. And bring 65 "close" family with them.
Fortunately missionaries are not allowed to date.
stay safe and have fun!
Yes. Hoping for local info.
Congratulations to your son deciding to serve. I enjoyed the time I spent in Pocatello, ID, among a large LDS population, as a recruiter. Even managed to help a few return missionaries join the Army. Fantastic young men.
That is cool. I spent time overseas in the military. It is good for young people to see other countries.
My wife was a aunt and some cousins there. Good people, she and her husband are retired collage teachers I am sure they would love to host him for dinner. They speak English very well. I'll Pm their contact Info if you would like after we check with them. Let me know.
According to LDS friends who've served there make sure to have him carry a personal stash of TP especially if working the rural areas.
Please advise him on situational awareness. Kidnapping of missionaries does happen.
For money or religious reasons, it happens. Radical islamism is there.
