Thanks to everyone that shared their idea's on building their bench. This baby is built like a tank and weighs a few hundred pounds. Specs: 40" table top height 4' x 8' Top: two sheets of 3/4" plywood 4" x 4" legs 2" x 4" supports under table top except directly under the 550 where I used a 2" x 14" (scrap header beam Canadian product) We added the shelf to hold the scale because the top shelf was too high. Lag bolts to secure to the wall studs 4' Fluorescent fixture centered over bench Long power strip hidden underneath from harbor Freight & drilled three holes at the rear of the table top. Note: I'm 6'2" and I had been loading on a very low table for a few years. I mounted the 550 on a 40" table and it felt right to me BUT it may bee too high. If I stand on a 2" board it feels perfect. I'll probably stand on one of those 2x14 header beams to confirm. Thanks again! This is my first real reloading bench and I really like it. Wanna kill these ads? We can help!
