    After almost two weeks of interminable waiting, my LM 38 Super arrived today. :woohoo: This gun is even better than I expected. Super smooth, very tight, and with nearly every feature you could possibly want. This thing oozes quality. It was nearly dark by the the time I got it home, so I only got to run a few magazines through it today, but it was enough to leave me very impressed.

    It set me back about $2500, but I figure with the lack of availability of LMs in my favorite caliber, I'd better just grab this one. Besides, I don't know if there is a better 1911 at that price, there certainly isn't one I wanted more.

    I'll post some very mediocre pictures tonight, I'll try and get some better ones tomorrow in the daylight.

    Meh, it's ok...but for that money, I'd have gotten 5 Glocks.

    Congrats on one of the finest 1911s ever built.

    I absolutely love the RRA Limited Match. I feel its one of the best shooting, most well appointed, cleanest, smoothest, tightest, most beautiful 1911s I've ever owned or even seen, for that matter. Its a downright crime that these guns aren't built anymore.

    It sounds like your first impressions are similar. :cool:

    By the way, you got yours at a great price, because they're commanding some high prices on the used market.

    Not many were made. :crying:

    I totally agree Brian, this is one great 1911. They were certainly a steal at the price originally offered. It's a shame that these will probably never be made again.

    What is really surprising is how well it fits my hands, and I think I've heard you say the same thing about yours. The no radius front strap and high cut grip safety are great. I know I've never held a gun that felt better. Seriously Brian, thanks for turning me on to this model.:wavey:

    I'm glad someone had the opportunity to pick up one of these awesome pistols. :thumbsup:

    ...and, yes, the lack of any radius under the trigger guard does help it fit your hands very well.

    A dealer who has ordered a lot of RRA 1911s got it for me. He said it has just been sitting at RRA for quite a while, so I snatched it up.

    Do you roll your own or buy your ammo? I was looking at .38 super and the prices seem a little on the high side these days.

    Thanks. I'm not a reloader. I usually buy my ammo at local gun shows, they often have some decent prices, $20 a box, competitive with 45 ACP anyway. 45 ACP is $18 at my local Wal-Mart. I've seen better prices online, I might start buying there.
