I've always liked the looks of these cars and saw one on my way to work that was very clean and cheap.

It's a 1994 Mercury Cougar XR7 with the 4.6 V8, power everything, leather, new tranny, and 142k miles.

Bought it from an elderly man that took very good care of it for $2500. That's a little high, but it was so clean I couldn't resist.

Getting the exhaust modified ASAP, new wheels and tires, and modifying the intake for now.

Sweet. I had one of those (2 cars and about 2 years ago). It was a Pearl White 95 XR7 w/ the 4.6. There is a supercharger kit made specifically for it IIRC. The grandma mobile beat many a ricer on the highway (not an "import", I mean "ricer" as in the bone stock automatic Civic with huge wing on it). I hear they (both the Thunderbird and Cougar) make good drag cars due to their long wheelbase. My brother wanted me to keep it when I traded it in for my Corolla XRS for a weekend dragstrip toy , but I didn't have the money to do anything with it.

BTW they slide nicely in the snow. ;)

Wow. Very clean! Do you have any plans for it after the basic bolt ons?

I had a well worn 91 T-Bird Super Coupe for a while. It had been wrecked three times before I got it and had electrical and tranny problems, but it still ran like crazy, cornered with finese, and braked straight and steady. It had a good ride too. I never played with the V-8 cars, but I would imagine that since most everything is interchangable, there should be no surprises.
