So yesterday, I picked up my G30SF. I've never done any aftermarket customization to my Glocks but I'm wondering; is there something I should do to it?

I absolutely love mine that I got not long ago!! You must put night sights on any Glock. Most people don't spread this info, but of u send ur Glock slide to Smyrna they will put factory nights sights on the pistol for just 57 bucks. U just ship it and they will pay the shipping back to you free. Night sights are a must in that 8 out of 10 shooting happen at night. Glock has a 15 year warranty on their factory nights which are just meprolight sights for 57 bucks can't even come close to be beaten. I have done it 4 times!

OK, night sights for sure. Now, please tell me about the advantage of the G36 slide on the G30SF. I am assuming it is just the width?
    Thanks,

I got a 30SF two weeks ago, will try and get into the range with it today for 50 rds of fun. Didnt want to get anything out of my 9mm or .40 Glock(s) comfort zone, but someone made me a deal I could not refuse on it and while I prefer my G-27 or G-23 long time friends better I suppose, a range session with this new one will tell if I keep it or not.

+1. I have had mine for about two months, and it has quickly become my favorite of my 4 glocks. It was my EDC before I sent the slide to CCR for refinishing, and once I shoot a couple of hundred rounds throught it when it returns, it will again become my EDC. It is a great gun, with recoil very manageable for a .45 of that size, not to mention it being a 10+1 .45.

The turnaround for night sights last I checked was about a week! Just can't be beat! Factory installed with a 15 year factory warranty for 57 bucks!

Well I fired my new to me G-30SF yesterday at an indoor range, while it was nice and accurate, I am giving it to my brother to try and will keep my trusty old G-27 close at hand fro now. Nice pistol the G-30SF, muzzle flash with Federal 230 Gr .45 auto was impressive, if I didnt have a G-27 I would be well armed to carry the G-30SF.

    Width, weight, carry-ability and added capacity. It's a win-win-win-win!

If I could get a new or slightly used G30 or G30SF complete frame for $200 out the door, I would do it. As it stands now, the frame is about $300, plus taxes, fees and shipping, you're probably looking at about $400. I can't justify $400. You can buy a nice used gun for that. It's a piece of plastic and some cheap metal parts. It should be $150, tops. But whenever capitalism can rape you, it will.
