I'm not a Mossberg fan and my agency recently decided to permit personally-owned long guns to be qualified with and carried. I'm issued a 590 that is less-than-swell, 'cause I'm an 870 guy, and the AR-style stock makes the safety and release inaccessible.

I've been shooting for almost 20 years, and have never owned an 870 Police...until now.

    So, here's what I've got:

A law enforcement trade-in 18" 870 Police Magnum with bead sight and SureFire front end, purchased from an LE distributor.
I'd easily rate it at 85-90%. It has some marks from being in a metal rack, but overall it is in excellent condition.

I just bought the following from Midway, with a $20 discount because I was a new customer:
    - Wilson Combat/Scattergun two-round extension
    - sling swivel
    - CQB sling
    - oversize safety
    - Hogue short/youth/12" overmolded LOP stock

It was cheaper to buy the stock set than it was just the butt stock because the set was on sale.

So...out the door, delivered, whatever...I will have exactly $548.88 in the gun, which is cheaper than the individual officer cost of a new 870 Police before tax!

Not too frickin bad, right? :cheerleader::rock::teddy::elephant:

And don't worry, I'll post pics.

I have an 870P so that is a good find but adding bacon to your pic would make it better.

Not a bad price at all with the Surefire fore end, that is around $300 new.

That's a good set-up and an excellent total price on the package. It should serve you well.

Too funny. After years of shooting nothing but Remington 870's at work and on my personal time, I switched to the 590a1 because the controls felt more natural to me and I found extraction to be a little more reliable with their dual extractors. No explaining taste, huh? Lol!

Nice find on the 870P. You have a great shotgun, and at a great price. I also like your modifications. It very closely mimicks what I have done to my fighting shotguns. Simple, but highly effective.

I'm with you. I have never ever knocked a 870 but I'm a lefty and prefer the Mossberg line for the controls. That is all I have in my inventory.

Sorry, guys! I never got e-mails telling me I had any responses, so I figured no one was interested.

    I'll get some pics up!

I bought it at Lawman's in Raleigh. They had about a dozen of them at the time.

Trick thread alert! Trick thread alert! Everyone knows you're not street-ready without a 2000.00 tricked-out AR rig!

Kidding--good to see the sweet science of the 12 gauge isn't going by the wayside.

Only thing better than a nice new firearm is an awesome deal on a used firearm-nice find.
