My Gaboon 1911

    Well after several long weeks, my buddy Dustin Bonar (formerly from Novaks) and current owner of L.S.T. finished up my Gaboon 45. I snapped a few pics but have not been able to shoot it yet. A Range report will be in the near future. I also had Dustin matte the front strap on my Kimber Pro Carry SLE and replace the extractor. Dustins late father Joe Bonar did a reliability package and a few tweaks to this Kimber many years ago. The Gaboon features an STI Slide and a Caspian/Foster Frame.

    Cool deal. I'm glad to finally see someone on here get a Gaboon. I saw one in a magzine article a couple of years ago and was interested.

    Rack the slide back, line up the notch and push slide lock out. The plug is captured inside the slide followed by the spring. The GPJ "Novak Next" feature is nice too, allowing you to chamber check by pulling the slide back while the thumb safety is engaged.

    I normally don't go for "none traditionally" styled 1911's, but that really looks good. Congrats.

    Offered by the famed pistolsmith Dustin Bonar - son of the late Joe Bonar. The Gaboon is a snake from.which it gets its name. American Handgunner did a write up about this gun. j try to find the link.
