Well...I've been shooting my new G17 and G26 for a bit now. I'm very surprised that I find myself walking back to the bench to load up the G26 mags more and more often. I really thought the G17 would be the gun I'd shoot at the range more often. Don't get me wrong...I enjoy shooting it...but it's not getting equal time to the G26. Especially since I installed the Pearce grip extensions. Anyone else experience this ?

I don't have either but I've been thinking about both and this post helps with my decision.

currently have a full size G20 and compact G23 but wanted a 9mm. thanks for the help.

yeah and it seems the smaller the glock you have in 9mm, the better they shoot for some reason! Enjoy your guns..

Used to love the pierce extension on my 26 cause I hated my pinky hanging till I got the gap floorplates... Now I don't care my pinky hangs and I shoot better and locks your fingers in plus you get a better purchase drawing your weapon too... Now I don't use pierce anymore

I know exactly what you are talking about. Love my G17 and would never sell it but the G26 gets the most rounds through it. G19 mostly stays in the safe, SR9c gets shot more than it.

Until I started shooting IDPA/USPSA I have no use for my g17, let alone my g34. At one point the largest hand gun I owned was a g19, and I was content. After shooting my first USPSA match I knew I was going back to big guns.

    Now I have a g19, 17, and 34.

I use the GAP floorplate for carry, too.

For GSSF, I use the standard mag plates, and let the pinky curl under. My match times with the 26, and 17, are not statistically significantly different, and sometimes the 26 is actually better.

I do note that I shoot more accurately with the 26 with the trijicon night sights, but faster with the 17 with the Warren Sevigny FO sights.

Look at the past GSSF results - many times the matchmeister is in the subcompact category!

I think you need to try a G19.:whistling:

I was afraid of that...I fear that's where I'm headed next. But, you all have to promise not to tell my wife !!!:)

Give me your wife's email address, so I make sure I don't tell her "by accident." :whistling:

Also love the 26, but highly recommend the 19.
  11. Once you have a G26, most everything else becomes a safe queen. At least for EDC.
  12. I choose the 19 over the 26, but if I already had a 17 I would have definitely gotten the 26. Even though the 19 is small I really do want to buy a 26 or 27 as well. I was leaning towards the 27 so my EDC would have a little bit more punch.

Some one should do a study to find out why. But that seems to be the pattern - people shoot the 26 better then the 19 (for me).

I love the 26. If I were to pick a Glock favorite the 26 would be it.

The main question to myself is.... "self...shall I trade in the G17 on a G19 or just have all three". I'm having a hard time wanting to get rid of the G17...even though it may end up being my least favorite of the 3. What to do???

The 26 is a sweet gun. If you buy the right clothes you can pocket carry it. I do it all the time. The 26 is totally dependable and more accurate than most of us are.

Yep. That's pretty much the case here. It's tough to beat in that size range for EDC.

I have all three. For me the G19 sits a lot. The G26 gets carried most of the year. If it's range time or nightstand duty the G17 is the one. If it's cold weather and I want to carry something bigger, G17 again. Now that I have decent holsters for it.

I'll keep the G19 because it's good and reliable but I don't do too much with it since I got my G26. Couple times a year I'll go on a G19 kick and shoot it a bunch and carry it for a bit but it finds its way back in the safe sooner rather than later and the G26 comes back out.

I bought the G17 first, then G19 and G26 last. If I didn't already have the G19 I could skip it and be more than happy with the G26 / G17 combo. Not sorry I own it, but it's kind of redundant for me and how I use them. YMMV.

But that's all personal preference on my part. They are all really good guns.

The G26 is my favorite carry/shooting gun! I love to shoot it....although, I will say my G32 is gaining ground. I don't think it will be my favorite, it is a little more difficult to carry, but it is a winner/keeper!

I currently have a G19 but I keep reading so much great stuff about the G26 that it will be my next. We have a tax refund coming, plus a GSSF coupon. The Mrs. already knows where part of the refund is going!
