Bought a Rock-Ola M1 Carbine. It looks to be matching Rock-Ola parts. It's marked Bavaria Forestry Police. The serial number matches on the receiver, stock, hand guard, and operating rod. The barrel is Rock-Ola with strong rifling and shiny. It gauges at 1. I paid $750. Here are some pics.

    great rifle

I wish I would have saved the 10s of 1000s of brass that I shot over the years!

...as I can't afford to shoot mine these days

Man I know the feeling. My gun shop burned down in 1995. Lost a LOT of ammo, brass, bullets, magazines and M1/M2 parts.

Lucky only one of my Carbines was in the shop at the time but it was a original 5.7 Johnson.

    Nice find JDSTG58.:)

This is my Wife shooting the M2 years ago. The Carbine was her favorite gun.

    Very good!

Everyone should own at least one M1 carbine. It is American history that is fun to shoot.

My favorite piece of history showing the M1 Carbine.

In most every M1 Carbine thread someone will say the 30 cal Carbine round is seriously "underpowered".

    This is my answer.
On Iwo Jima the Marines (and Navy) were being killed so fast that anyone that wasn't satisfied with their Carbine, at any time, could pick up a M1 Garand. Apparently the Marines didn't think the Carbine was underpowered.

After handling and shooting this one, I can't believe I didn't buy one of these years ago. This is going to be my new favorite rifle. It's small, light and handles great.

After taking it apart, it looks like it is all matching Rock-Ola. It has the last 4 digits of the serial number stamped on many of the parts. It also has a 4 digit rack number on the trigger group that matches the stock, and bolt (Bavarian marks).

    Very cool part of history.
