Hi all Im new to GT and hadnt owned a glock till today when I traded an FNP 45 for a more comfortable G20. Its used but barely everything looks new on it. Was a park rangers back up gun. I picked it up to use out in the woods, home defense and some ccw with the help of a super tuck. Do you guys think with some practice ill be able to take a deer with it. I thought that would be cool as did the guy at the gun shop. Any thoughts go ahead and fire away. I plan to get a 21, and 17 down the road as well. Thanks!

    MeanRedneck87, :welcome: and congrats!

You could take a deer with th G-20 with well placed shot from reasonable distances with good bullets at decent velocities. Keeping it with in reason distances makes for a more humane kill to the deer.

    Good luck & Best regards!:highfive:

    Welcome and congrats.
I don't think the 20 will be your last Glock.

word is a 200 gr hardcast will pass clean thru a deer out to 100 yards.

I would certainly do it if you are a good enough aim.

The g-20 is my first handgun. I got the 22 kit so I have about 600 or 700 22's down the barrel. 75 rounds of double tap, 100 rounds of 10 lite, 150 rounds of 40 s&w. I would shoot at a deer out to about 35 yards.Going to take a heck of alot more practice till I can shoot the gun further then it could kill deer size game.

"Welcome to the party pal ". I started my 10mm "research" with a G20 and ended up downsizing to the G29 'cuz I gots small hands. I think you made the right choice and I also suspect there might be another Glock in your future !

    Welcome !
Excellent choice, was my 1st Glock also. was gonna buy a G21, but had just built my son a 1911......kept hearing this small voice in my head......."dad, you're out of ammo again".....Bought the 10MM & haven't looked back.
    other 10MM's....
    Springfield Omega
    G 29 (carry gun)
    S&W 610
    S&W 1006
Ruger BlackHawk Convertible (.38-40 extra cyl)
    10" Contender

And yes, the 10MM will take a deer. Get the 6" barrel from Glock or an aftermarket unit for just a bit more velocity. I can't use mine for deer because IL doesn't permit semi-autos for them, but the S&W or the Ruger work nicely !
And trust me, it WON'T be your only Glock !

Thanks for the very warm generous welcome, I am looking forward to purchasing a few more Glocks, and maybe another 10mm or two with some that VN350X10 listed for me. Btw thank you for listing those! Thanks to all for the advice you gave about taking deer with this caliber too it has been very helpful.
