My 7yo and 9yo with their turkeys

    A few weeks ago I had them both out looking for deer and they couldn't resist taking some birds. That is turkey #3 for the 7yo and turkey #5 for the 9yo.

    Here is the 7yo with his bird.

    Here is the 9yo with his bird. He had on eye and ear protection when he shot the bird but left them off for the pics.

    AFAIK there are only Rios in that area. How do you tell the difference?

    The one we had was very good. The other is still in the freezer.

    After seeing those birds,

    I'm chalkin my turkey calls at this moment for 2009 spring turkey date, It's on cuz starting april 26 ;)

    Looks like we're going back this weekend for one last shot, so to speak. Earlier this season the older boy got a whitetail doe and the younger one got a mule deer buck, so maybe one of them will find a big whitetail buck.

    Great to get them out there young.

    I have three sons ages 15, 14, 12.

    The 12 year old wants to go turkey hunting in the spring. Others like fishing.

    Good to see younglings shooting the birds!!!!:wavey:
