well i bit the bullet today. i ordered a PSA lower build with with MOE grip and stock. I also set up an appointment to pick up my stripped Spike's lower from Aim Surplus (how lucky, they are only a half hour drive away and only a 10 minute drive from work). Now I am shopping around trying to find the best deal on a complete Spike's upper. If anyone knows where to find a good deal on the Spike's upper, let me know. The best i can find is $499 for the flat top with basic handguards which is what i want for now.

Looks like you've been bit by the AR bug. Congrats. You appreciate a rifle more once you've built it yourself, IMO.

yea, i was definitely hit by the AR bug. with upcoming elections, we all know prices are going to be heading upwards. i got my tax return back so i figured, why not? i was planning on buying a Colt 6920 but after some thought, i would rather build than buy. anyone can buy an prebuilt AR off the shelf but an AR built the way you want it is so much better. Also, by putting it together, i will learn exactly how an AR works and what actually goes inside it. I am very excited to get my lower next Thursday and my build kit should be here before then.

This can be an expensive hobby especially when diving into the AR market. But it is alot of fun. All the options for sights, rails, grips, and other accessories can be overwhelming. Enjoy
