Moving on from corrections....

    Ouch! I did that in AIT with the Army; no bueno. Do what you have to do to heal, man, regardless of anything else--you only get one body per lifetime.

    Ice elevation and nsaids for first day, alternate ice and heat after that. Ice after workouts to reduce swelling, check with sorts medicine specialist, talk with physical therapist to get more ideas.

    If it's not torn stuff, you may be able to tough it out. But make sure it isn't something serious, or something partially torn that you could tear all the way if you're not careful. See if they'll let you wear brace of some sort for extra support.

    Good luck, hang in there if you can, don't be afraid to back out and come back after you heal from a minor injury rather than try to stick it out and cause an injury you can't come back from...

    Ice, NSAIDS, elevation etc like has been mentioned will help out. medicate before and after.
