As far as telling your family you won't get killed, you would be lying. I sold mine when I noticed that more and more people are texting and not paying attention to driving. Didn't want to be a a stop light and some a-hole texting runs up my back. By the way I had a Triumph Speedmaster which I loved. But I love my wife and kids more and they need me.

I've been thinking about that, but I've been thinking the same years ago riding my roadbike ( bicycle ) just a few feet from 100kph buses speeding down the highways on bike trips. I was thinking this is not the safest place a dad should be hehe
The only difference now is my bike will have a motor
I'm trying to convince myself heehee

That bike is Sweet! I remember those and how they sounded. I have a 1981 KZ 550 that I ride to work 1-2 times a week in the summer. Not much you can do outside of being observant of others around you. I too am concerned about obliviot textors.

On another note, in my city in the last few months we've had 2-3 kids killed on crotch rockets losing control while going 70mph in a 40 mph zone. It's unfortunate, but a combination of age, bullet proof mentality, and lack of experience is also a big factor.

I was pretty lucky i had no major crashes , was just 18 at the time I think
Just got thrown off the bike once or thrice but not a scratch on me, beginner's luck :)
I dont think i'm that lucky anymore

Thinking of an on/off road bike this time, for touring
Pang sagada trip or a tour of the nautical highways

    o baka vespa nalang hehe

As long as you take the necessary precautions and wearing the proper safety gears, you are lessening the chances of spilling.

Try a dual purpose bike. If you intend to pass through NLEX, SCTEX and SLEX, the BMW 650 GS or Honda Transalp will do.

the joy of riding supercedes any fear of crashing for me, unfortunately the wife doesnt share my enthusiasm, sa madaling sabi wala na rin akong motorsiklo hu hu. rode a yamaha xs 650 and kawasaki kl 250 dirtbike before.

Thanks, I just sold my last 2 a few weeks ago to pay off a credit card. So now that I have paid off that debt, I am now looking for another bike to get some new debt. Motorcycles are like an addiction, once you own one, it's very hard to live without one.

Allegra, the pleasure i get when riding a motorbike is unexplainable. I feel happy and rejuvenated after riding my bike. Compared to target shooting which i love to do also (before), honestly paps, i get more pleasure (almost triple) in riding. Unfortunately for me also, until now my wife does not share/understand that passion, but nevertheless i still ride. I have 3 bikes in my garage (despite my wife's disapproval. tigas ulo hehehe).

You might want to start with a 400cc bike like a honda superfour. It is a sport-touring, easy to handle, city-riding & slex-nlex friendly, low fuel consumption, beginner's bike.

Let's ride sometime, if you have one already. You wont regret it pare (baka makalimutan mo na ang Guns, gaya ng nangyari sa akin, i rarely touch them anymore). Ride safe!
